Video Rotator & Flipper

Fix sideways or upside-down videos and un-mirror selfie clips. MP4 and MOV files can be rotated instantly with no quality loss, and anything your browser can play can be re-rendered with flips. Nothing is uploaded.

How to rotate or flip a video

  1. Choose a video or drag it onto the box. It opens in your browser, so even large files load instantly.
  2. Tap the rotate buttons until the preview looks right, and tick Mirror to fix a flipped selfie video.
  3. For rotation only on an MP4 or MOV, keep Quick (lossless). It finishes in a second and keeps the original quality.
  4. For flips, other formats, or apps that ignore rotation settings, choose Re-render. It plays the video through once to rebuild it, so keep the tab open until it finishes.
  5. Tap Save rotated video to download the fixed file.

Quick or re-render: which one?

Quick (lossless) changes the orientation setting stored inside the file, the same one phones use. Nothing is re-encoded, so it's instant, works on files of any size, and keeps every pixel. Phones, browsers, VLC, YouTube, and most editors and social apps respect it. A few older apps and some TVs ignore it and show the original orientation.

Re-render rebuilds the video with the picture itself turned or mirrored, so it looks right everywhere. It takes about as long as the video's running time, the quality is very close to the original, and the sound comes along. Depending on your browser, the result is MP4 or WebM.

When it comes in handy

  • Sideways phone clips. Fix videos that were recorded with the phone turned the wrong way or with rotation lock on.
  • Mirrored selfie video. Un-flip front-camera footage so text, logos, and signs read the right way.
  • Vertical video for social. Turn a landscape clip into a vertical one for Reels, Shorts, or Stories.
  • Upside-down mounts. Correct footage from cameras mounted upside down on cars, rigs, or ceilings.

Frequently asked questions

Does rotating a video lose quality?

Not with Quick (lossless) mode. It only changes the orientation setting inside MP4 and MOV files, so the picture isn't touched. Re-render mode rebuilds the video, which keeps the quality very close to the original but not identical.

Why does my video still look sideways in some apps?

Quick mode relies on the app reading the file's orientation setting. Nearly all modern players do, but some older software and TVs don't. If that happens, run the video through Re-render, which turns the actual picture.

Can I mirror a video without re-rendering?

No. MP4 and MOV files have no reliable mirror setting that players respect, so flips always use Re-render.

How long does re-rendering take?

About as long as the video plays, since your browser plays it through once while recording the turned picture. A 2-minute clip takes about 2 minutes. Keep the tab open and in front until it finishes, because browsers slow down hidden tabs.

Is there a file size limit?

Quick mode works on files of almost any size, because only a few bytes change. Re-render works best for clips up to about 15 minutes on a typical computer.

Is my video uploaded?

No. Your video is opened directly from your device and processed in your browser. It's never sent to our server.
